Joann Nelson, Rooted Resolve’s founder and principal consultant, is passionate about helping clients solve problems, move ideas forward, and get things done. Joann has 20 years of experience in Human Resources with a primary emphasis in compensation. Her experience spans a wide range of industries.
She has extensive hands-on experience in the analysis, design, implementation, administration, and communication of compensation programs that support business strategy. Her core areas of expertise include the development and implementation of base pay salary structures, market pricing and job evaluation, job leveling and title alignment, short- and long-term incentives, cost modeling and impact analysis, and total rewards statements. Additionally, Joann has experience in merger and acquisition due diligence and integration, recruitment, employee relations, and training.
Working to exceed expectations has been a key measure of success for Joann throughout her career. Her primary objective is to understand a client and their business in order to offer solutions that fit their needs. Joann holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). She is a former board member and long-standing member of the Rocky Mountain Total Rewards Association.
In her free time, you can find Joann exploring the great outdoors with her husband Jay, training for ultramarathons, and volunteering in the community.
